The global healthcare landscape is marked by disparities, particularly in developing nations. The lack of robust electronic medical record systems is a critical issue, hindering efficient patient care and disease management. Recognizing this gap, a team of Drexel University students founded MEDDIBIA intending to revolutionize healthcare delivery, and won the Spring Drexel Startups Fund Competition with their startup idea.

The Drexel Startups Fund competition features a rigorous two-round pitch format. The first round involves presentations from a select group of applicants, and the finalists are then chosen to present in the final round. This year, the competition received numerous innovative proposals from undergraduate seniors, graduate students, and post-graduate applicants.

The Drexel University Innovation Fund is currently open for applications and provides a unique opportunity for young entrepreneurs to receive funding to support their ideas.

Through the Fund, the University aspires to play the role of a “friends and family” investor, by being one of the first investors to support these startups — offering an investment of $150,000 in up to four startups per year.
