A new documentary series created by Drexel associate teaching professor Dr. John H. Wilson and filmmaker Isaac George ’25 offers an unvarnished look at real-time venture creation in the classroom.
Traditional business education frequently relies on static case studies and theoretical lectures. At Drexel University’s Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship, associate teaching professor John Wilson takes a fundamentally different approach - one built on immediate execution and fast application.
"If you're waiting for a textbook publisher to write a guide on emerging business models, it's going to take five years - and by then, the market opportunity has passed," says Wilson, known to his students as "Doc John" and to his online audience as "The EntreProfessor."
That drive to document real-time classroom experimentation led Wilson to launch his independently produced documentary series, Forging Founders: Inspiring Founders in the New Era of Learning. Created alongside filmmaker Isaac George ’25 (B.A. film & television production, Westphal College) during George's Drexel Co-op, the series offers a rare, behind-the-scenes look at modern startup education.
